Irha news English (Hyderabad) December 1, 2023:Sri. N. Venugopal, Editor, Veekshanam delivered the Twenty-Eight Narla Memorial Endowment lecture on “Telugu Journalism Prayaanam- Yakkadi Nunchi Ekkadi Daka” at Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University Hyderabad on Friday. Sri. N. Venugopal said that the journalistic values of Narla’s generation do not exist in the current situation, It is not good for the society. He said Narla was the pioneer of the first generation of Telugu journalism and he stood as a pillar of journalistic values as long as he lived as a journalist. He also expressed concern that the profession has been commercialized in the name of modern journalism in the current situation and redefined the role of journalists.

Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU who preside over the function, he said that the society needs journalists like Narla in the current situation. Narla’s family members are proud to present the books written and collected by him to the Ambedkar University Library as an example of values-based journalism. He also said that in Narla library, the university will be digitized all the books collected by Narla.

Prof.Ghanta Chakrapani, Director (Academic) attended as guest of honor and introduced about the program. He stated that Narla is famous at the national level as a journalist with perseverance and values. Prof.GHunti Ravinder, Director Materials & Publications introduced about the chief guest. Prof. A.V.R.N Reddy, Registrar; Prof. E.Sudharani, Director (GRCR&D); Prof.Vaddanam Srinivas, Director EMR&RC; Dr.L.V.K.Reddy, Director LSSD; Prof.GHunti Ravinder, Director Materials & Publications were present in the program. Earlier the Chief Guest, Directors, Deans, Heads of Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members, representatives of service associations offered rich floral tributes to Narla Portrait.
